Abigale Lee
Mills (born on the 21st of September, 1965) was a American dance instructor,
choreographer and reality TV host. Abby Lee Dance Company was established by
her. It aired on eight seasons of Dance Moms. Miller admitted in June of 2016
to criminal bankruptcy fraud. Miller was sentenced to one year and a day in
federal prison, and released on the 27th of March in 2018. In April 2018, she
was diagnosed with lymphoma, which is a type of cancer that renders it
difficult for people to walk. To move around she uses wheelchair. Miller was
born in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. She was a dancer , and trained under her
mother at Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio. Miller was 14 years old when she was
given choreography and coaching duties on one of her mother's competition dance
teams. Miller eventually assumed control of the studio in 1995 and changed the
name to it Reign Dance Productions. Miller was certified by Dance Masters of
America and became a part of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter #10 in 1986,
however, her membership was ended in February 2012 after which the DMA saying
Miller's reality-TV show Dance Moms was "a total mistake in the
representation of our dance teachers and their students and is damaging to the
dance industry."
